Active X Component Errors:
This is common in network installations.  A client machine that can connect to the network but has not had the installation kit run will have Active X errors.
Also occurs when a hard drive is formatted and the contents of a Flow Consultant directory are copied from a network location.

The installation kit is required for database references to use the Flow Consultant.

Download the installation kit for version 8.  

Version 7 administrators note, the version 8 installation kit will resolve this same error for version 7.  You must delete the version 8 executable from your end users machine.
European Style Comma in numerical formats
File Not Found:

The database path stored by the last flow consultant user is not a path you can access.
Cause:  network rights or renaming of databases through file manager.
Solution:  install Version 8.1.0006 or greater

License Questions and Errors:

Where is my license? 
Your license for The Flow Consultant TM resides on the harddrive of your computer.   ​​​​

It is the users responsibility to keep track of where their license is at all times.   Think of your license as your car keys.  
R.W. Miller & Associates will not be responsible for broken, lost or stolen licenses. 

The support period is one year from date of purchase.  Support extensions are available for purchase.  Contact Sales@rwmillerassociates.com

After your support term expires, you may continue to use Flow Consultant Version 8 without maintaining a current subscription. 
Support costs will be assessed on an as needed basis.

R.W. Miller & Associates will not be responsible for broken, lost or stolen licenses outside the term of your support period. 

How do I move my license?
In the event you get a new computer, you must remove your license with the Uninstall License utility provided in the Help Menu.

Do not uninstall the Flow Consultant through the control panel without first removing your license.

After removing your license, it goes back on our server where you can retrieve it from your new computer. 

The uninstall license utility can be used to switch between a desktop and laptop.

Download the installation kit for version 8.  

Customer Identification number already registered
Registration Attempt.  Status:  Failed Duplicate

Your customer ID is already installed on another machine.

This error can also appear if you accidentally pressed the REGISTER button more than once. 
Check your open applications for an instance of Internet Explorer for a valid registration code.

Formatted harddrive
You are using a computer that previously had the Flow Consultant installed and are presented with the blue registration screen.

Enter your customer ID and click register once. 

Our website will be prompted with the duplicate registration error indicating you are to contact our support. 

Your attempt to register the same machine will be recorded.  Please contact us to review the records and reset your license manually. 

Manual resets are applicable for same machine registrations only.  All others must follow instructions in How do I move my license 

License Expired

Version 8 licenses ONLY 
Upon startup, you are prompted with a screen that your Flow Consultant license has expired.  
This occurs when the product was never updated to the current version.  To resolve your version 8 expiration, follow the steps below.


1.  Click the remove button.  This puts the license back on our server.  After you install the revision, you will be prompted to register as using the current version.
2. Go to

3.  Launch the flow consultant.
